Meet the Miami Shores Team Behind Winslow Windows & Doors
When you call Winslow Windows & Doors, you’re not getting a rotating cast of subcontractors. You’re getting the same crew that’s been working Miami Shores, Biscayne Park, El Portal, and the surrounding neighborhoods since 2011. Ed Winslow built this company on a simple idea: hire people he’d trust inside his own home, then treat every customer’s house the same way. The team is small enough that you’ll recognize faces on repeat visits, but experienced enough to handle everything from a single impact window replacement to a full roof-and-window package on a 1950s Miami Shores bungalow.
Our People
Ed Winslow, Owner & Operator
Ed founded Winslow Windows & Doors in 2011 after years of watching out-of-town contractors undercut local workmanship and disappear when problems showed up. He stayed for the opposite reason. Ed still answers the phone, still walks job sites in Miami Shores personally, and still signs off on every major installation before the crew packs up. He’s the one who decided the company would carry eight authorized brands including PGT, CGI, CWS, ES Windows, ECO Window Systems, Mr-Glass, Therma-Tru, because he’d rather offer a focused lineup he can stand behind than a catalog of products he can’t. Ask him about wind-load requirements on a corner lot in Biscayne Park and you’ll get a twenty-minute education, not a sales pitch. Ed’s name is on the door, and on every job we do.
Marcus T., Lead Installation Technician
Marcus has been with Winslow for nine years, longer than anyone on the crew besides Ed. He started as an installer and now leads every impact window and door project the company takes on in Northeast Miami-Dade. Marcus is factory-certified on PGT and CGI impact products, and he’s the guy who figures out the hard retrofits, the ones where an original 1940s concrete opening doesn’t match any modern frame dimension. He grew up in North Miami and can tell you which blocks in Miami Shores have older single-pane aluminum frames that were installed without proper anchoring. On weekends he’s rebuilding a 1972 Chevy C10 in his garage, which explains why he’s patient with jobs that take longer than the estimate says.
Luis R., Senior Installer, Roofing
Luis runs the roofing side of the house. He’s been installing shingle, tile, and metal roofs across Miami-Dade for fourteen years, and the last six of them have been with Winslow. He holds a background in standing-seam metal work, which matters more than most homeowners realize when a Miami Shores roof has to carry a new solar array or tie into existing clay tile without leaking. Luis is known on the crew for walking a roof three times before he starts, once for structure, once for drainage, once for the small details nobody asked about. He’s quiet until you ask about roof underlayment, and then you’ll be glad you asked.
Dana K., Service Coordinator
Dana is the voice on the phone at 2 a.m., the one who answers because Ed refuses to run a call center or a voicemail loop. She’s been with Winslow for five years and knows every customer’s history before she picks up. Dana schedules all estimates, orders materials, and keeps the standing offers straight: $40 off any repair over $200, free second opinions on written estimates, no trip charge inside the home county, and the permanent 10% discount for seniors and veterans. She’s also the reason a homeowner in Miami Shores never has to wonder who’s showing up. Dana logs every appointment, confirms every technician by name, and reminds the crew when a house has a dog or a gate code. Before Winslow, she ran logistics for a medical supply company, which is why she treats scheduling like a system rather than a guess.
Andre J., Apprentice Installer
Andre is the newest member of the team, two years in and already trusted to handle window tear-outs and dry-in on residential jobs. He shadows Marcus on impact window installations and Luis on roof projects, which means he’s learning both disciplines the way Ed prefers it: on real Miami Shores houses with real weather coming. Andre is working toward his own manufacturer certifications, currently focused on ECO Window Systems and Mr-Glass entry doors. He’s a Miami native who played baseball at Miami Shores Recreation Complex, and he still coaches a youth league team there on Saturdays. If you see a tall kid on your roof paying unusually close attention to flashing, that’s Andre.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this crew works off the same checklist: the Done Right Promise. It sounds like a big number because it is. If something’s not done right, Winslow makes it right, period. That’s a lasting standard, and Ed treats it literally. It means Marcus can’t rush an impact window install and call it good. It means Luis doesn’t leave a Miami Shores roof until the last tile is set and the flashing is checked twice. It means Dana doesn’t close a ticket until the homeowner says the work looks right. Every technician is background-checked and shows up in uniform, so you know exactly who’s at your door before the truck stops. The license number and address are published, not hidden behind a PO box. Nobody on this crew gets paid to cut corners. It’s the same standard in El Portal, Biscayne Park, and everywhere else we work. The one down the road.
